Babalu Aye
Babalu Aye is the patron of illness and is often called by beggars and the sick. He is compassionate and humble, he can easily cause infections as well as cure them. He has a dog by his side and has a bag filled with corn slung across his chest. Syncretized as San Lazarus in Catholicism and is a powerful Orisha that can give wealth and health. It is said that he was punished by Olofi for laying with a woman on Holy Day and violating the sacredness. He was killed and brought back to life by Oshun, after pleading her.
